A shy, friendless 16-year-old high school student who is relentlessly bullied by her peers and abused by her fanatically religious mother, Margaret. After a traumatic incident in the school locker room, Carrie discovers she has telekinetic powers. The story culminates at the high school prom, where a cruel prank involving pig’s blood triggers her powers(see model), leading to a legendary and destructive massacre.
