Do we prefer gumroad links?

I am trying to figure out the easiest way to deliver models, as well as ease of use for you all on the new site. I thought about just adding the link straight from our bunny storage account.
So I have come up with the a couple of options:

1. We could add the link right to the post using our bunny storage, then each new month, delete the posts with this link to prevent new members from getting access to the older models.

2. We could add a gumroad link to the "posts" with the download codes. (patreon way)

3. Keep it how we have been doing it.

Which method would the majority prefer?

  1. I prefer Gumroad, purely because that’s where all of my other VS3D download files are. But, the website works for me too, just a bit more protracted, having to do it through the store and to add the code to get the file.

  2. I like the gumroad links personally. Just easy to keep them all together and make it easy to search what I’m wanting to download. Think i have like 3k files on gumroad currently. 😁

  3. My only preference would be that I have ongoing access to my files. I don’t like the idea of losing access after a month or by deleting the messages with the links. I am currently rebuilding my library after a hard drive failure, and it would be a major pain for me (and for you) if you had to add back links to my purchased files. So, Gumroad or the current model is my preference.

    1. No matter which route we take, the links expire after 1 month. If we kept the links active, anyone joining today could access models they didn’t pay for right away.

  4. Gumroad, indeed. I dont care for the idea of ‘losing’ a file because it wasnt downloaded in a certain amount of time. With that said, I understand why you want/need to do it.

    1. Nothing would be “lost” no matter if its gumroad links, or they we have been doing it, our codes still expire after the following month. So Feb codes expire the end of March, no matter how we do it. I just don’t delete the posts from patreon, which I should start doing because new people join and because they are in a specific tier, they think they have access to those models. It happens at least 1-2 times every couple of months.

  5. Option 2. I had posted a more lengthy reply but I got an error probably because I included a URL. So i’m going to just summarize
    – I prefer Gumroad because most of my files are there and I can search for something.
    – I would like to have a copy here for redundancy. (Don’t know if both is an option)
    – Don’t know how option 1 works in practice (Haven’t followed many posts)
    – If things were to remain the same with the discount code to your store I suggest including the link to the item eliminating the clunkiness of the first step.

  6. i prefer gumroad also as it keeps everything in one place and i know two people that have had hard drive failures and have lost models (from other sourrces) and dont wish the same as i use an external hard drive.
